Indigo Dyeing with Shibori Designs
The natural dye indigo is such a beautiful color and so easy to use! No heat, no pretreating, fast results. In this three hour class, you will learn some simple tying, folding, and clamping techniques that will give you the skills to dye gorgeous fabrics and clothing. You should supply a few prewashed cotton fabrics or garments; I will supply some sample fabric s and a few small cotton napkins. No experience needed.

Eco Printing on Fabric and Paper
Eco printing (a.k.a. botanical contact printing) is the process of using plant material to "print" the plant pigments onto fabric or paper, using mordants and heat on the tightly-wrapped plant and fabric (or paper) bundles. This results in a wide range of colors and patterns. No experience needed.

SIMPLE SHIBORI FABRIC DYING
Using simple materials, Susan will teach us some basic
shibori techniques. Shibori dyeing uses folded, tied, wrapped or clamped
“resists” to create beautifully patterned cloth. We will dye enough fabric to
create napkins or a pillow cover for each participant. No experience needed.

IMPROV SKETCHES IN QUILT DESIGN
Join Pat Pauly in learning the quick steps to composing
improvisationally – or by improv - by building off the pieces that started the
design for an art quilt. With her handful of piecing techniques, and tips on
construction, we will make mini-works that can be the finished art quilt or
become the base for larger work that begins a series. Let go of templates and
see possibilities develop. For confident beginner or intermediate sewers.
