How to See PINK on the Radio

Mammoth sunflowers and pink coneflowers greet visitors to the Pink House in Saranac Lake. Photo: Todd Moe
A lovely thing happened today. The interview recorded with me last week by the fabulous Todd Moe of North Country Public Radio aired on the "Eight o'Clock Hour" program. If you ever wanted to know a little more about Art at the Pink House and my view of this business, click HERE for Todd's audio interview and some photos.

I am SO grateful to every person and every organization that brings my business to the public with such good wishes! My Humble and Everlasting Thanks!

Collaging My Life

Shuffling all my old sketchbooks around as I moved and organized my new studio got me thinking about what was happening in my life when I was making all those notes and drawings.
I thought about how much space they took up too. So I started tearing out some drawings and some of the more enlightening notes. Once I had nice assortment, I began collaging the pieces of paper onto an old mirror frame. And I'm adding colored papers from my stash.

When I have time to sit for a few minutes, I enjoy looking back. And it will be fun to see the present me in the mirror framed by my past interests and passions.

Now I'm looking for more old mirrors. So much material!

Heart Art

Our co-op gallery, NorthWind Fine Arts, opened our Valentine show last night. Three other galleries in Saranac Lake had openings as well, and I got to each one. Some pretty fine work all around.

Morning Glory Love

My contribution to our group show included these two mixed media collages. I used photographs of my once-was garden, fixed them up a bit with Paint.net (very cool editing program), and printed them on sumi paper. The sumi paper is great for collage. It runs through my printer beautifully with no carrier sheet and adheres perfectly to the acrylic-painted canvas with acrylic matte medium.

And Valentine cards! Who doesn't need Valentine cards?! In addition to selling my cards at the gallery, I have printed several designs from my original watercolor cards to sell at Saranac Lake's Community Store. Some samples:
